Underlying personality factors and breast enhancement

One of the most common pre-conceptions that women have is that their live will change radically after they go a breast enhancement procedure. In such cases, counseling is required, to take a closer look at the patient’s expectations, and try to match them with more realistic concepts.

One of the factors that must be considered is the idea that surgical breast enhancement is immediate. This is not quite the truth, since after the operation, the patient will have to wait a number of weeks to be able to go back to her routines. And in many cases, she will not be able to do things in the exact same fashion she used to before the breast enhancement procedure. A very simple, but deeply important habit that the patient might not be able to do again is to resume her habitual sleeping position. This might bring about psychological distress, due to sleep deprivation. Depression, lack of energy, mood swings can be some of the consequences.

Other situation that patients imagine is that after their breast enhancement procedure, their relationship with the opposite sex will bloom. It is important to make her understand that the fact that her anatomy has changed in one aspect, does not mean that men will fall to her feet magically. She will still have to work on her sentimental relationships, the same way as other mortals do, to keep and nourish it. Just because she feels more attractive does not imply that her affective issues have gone away.
